Which strand is right for you?

We have two core strands — and some specialist roles within them. You can apply to one or more depending on your skills and interests. All student staff are part of a wider, collaborative team working to support and enhance student life on campus.

 

Strand A: Student Engagement & Information

For those who love helping people, solving problems, and being the friendly face of DCU Student Life.

  • Staff the Info Hub and respond to student queries in person and online
  • Help students navigate clubs, and societies, and University services
  • Support our key initiatives such as The Pantry, our Free Breakfast, and our free health and wellbeing products
  • Support pop-up events, Welcome Week, and other campus activities
  • Provide general admin and frontline support across the U Building and our St. Patrick's campus

 

Strand B: Student Life Operations & Support

Ideal if you’re a behind-the-scenes organiser, planner, or project person. This strand plays a vital role in supporting the activity of DCU’s vibrant societies and clubs, and the student leaders who bring events, campaigns, and initiatives to life.

  • Support the planning, logistics, and delivery of student-led society, club, and SU events and activities
  • Assist organisers with event budgeting, promotion, and coordination
  • Provide administrative support to the team throughout the year
  • Help deliver student a vibrant student rep system including supporting Class Rep Elections
  • Coordinate event sign-ups, room bookings, and document management

 

Creative Communications Track (within Strand B)

Are you creative, bold, and ready to show off the DCU vibe online? These roles sit within Strand B but focus on creative content and visual storytelling.

🎥 Student Content Creator:
  • Plan and shoot engaging TikToks and reels
  • Conduct campus vox pops and tell real student stories
  • Be the on-screen face of our campaigns and events
🎨 Student Graphic Designer:
  • Create eye-catching posters, social content, and event branding
  • Design visuals for LinkedIn and showcase student impact
  • Bring campaigns to life with bold, consistent design
